Our Professional Standards
Our attorneys are bound by professional standards of confidentiality. We protect confidential and privileged information of all of our clients.
Personal Financial Matters
In addition to the professional standards of confidentiality discussed above, federal law imposes confidentiality restrictions in connection with legal advice we provide relating to personal financial matters for clients who are individuals.
In the course of providing such legal advice, such as in connection with estate and gift tax planning and estate administration, we may receive nonpublic personal information, such as personal financial information.
If you are an individual client of Stewart, Plant & Blumenthal, LLC, all nonpublic personal information that we receive from you will be held by us in confidence, and will not be disclosed to anyone outside of our firm, except: (a) as agreed to by you, (b) as necessary to provide the professional service you have requested, (c) as required by applicable professional standards, or (d) as otherwise required by law. We retain records relating to our professional services so that we are better able to assist you with your legal needs and, in some cases, to comply with the professional guidelines to which we are subject.
In order to protect your nonpublic personal information, we maintain physical, electronic, procedural and other appropriate safeguards.
